Warner Home Video has provided ComicContinuum a clip from one of the extras from Smallville: The Complete Seventh Season, due in stores on Sept. 9.
The clip is part of a "Jimmy on Jimmy" featurette with four actors who have played Jimmy Olsen in movies or television: Aaron Ashmore (Smallville), Marc McClure (Christopher Reeve movies), Jack Larson (The Adventures of Supermans) and Sam Huntington (Superman Returns). McClure also guest-starred in Season 7 of Smallville as Dax-Ur.
Laura Vandervoort announced while at the Fan Expo in Toronto, Canada this weekend, that her character, Kara will be returning to Smallville for one episode during the eighth season. According to TVGuide, Charlotte Sullivan was cast as Maxima, who will appear in the fourth episode of this upcoming season, Instinct. Click on the link below for the complete article.
Who/what/from where is Maxima? According to the Wiki/Superman canon, she's the oldest child of the royal family of the planet Almerac. (Random anagram alert: Caramel!) Her purpose on Earth is to find a suitable mate — which more than explains why she finds herself in a liplock with not one, but two Smallville gents shortly after her arrival!
Maxima and Superman are genetically compatible, meaning she can give him what no Earth woman (save for Kate Bosworth?) can — children. Her powers historically have included mind control, strength, enhanced stamina and the occasional psionic beam shooting from her peepers.
Newsarama got to speak with Smallville's Jimmy Olsen, Aaron Ashmore. He spoke about the relationship between Jimmy and Chloe, Clark Kent and much more.
“What I’m especially looking forward to and hoping for, though, is some further development with Jimmy himself. The character has kind of been going around in circles as far as having self-confidence issues and trying to get out of that rut if you will, but then falling back into it because he hasn’t really grown up quite yet..."
